Abstract

As communication technologies evolve beyond 5G to mmWave high-frequency bands, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has built an ultra-compact 008004 inch High Q MLCC line-up which will replace the conventional 01005 inch size. This line-up addresses both the growing demand for High Q characteristics and minimized parasitic components. Samsung Electro-Mechanics introduces the new 008004 inch High Q MLCC, designed to maximize circuit efficiency and significantly reduce mounting area.

The Trend of Ultra-Miniaturized, High Q MLCC Adoption - Led by the Evolution of High-Frequency Communication Technologies

As communication technologies evolve beyond 5G toward 6G, RFFE(RF Front-End) modules are rapidly expanding into higher-frequency ranges such as mmWave. Hence, the demand for High Q MLCCs is soaring to reduce signal loss in high-frequency bands.

Furthermore, the addition of components such as antennas, filters, and PAs to support high-frequency operations creates a greater need to reduce the mounting area within radio frequency front end (RFFE) modules. This reduces parasitic elements, which lowers loss and maximizes circuit efficiency, thus accelerating the shift from the conventional 01005 inch size to the ultra-small 008004 inch size.

 

Introducing the Ultra-Compact 008004 inch High Q MLCC to Maximize High-Frequency Efficiency and Address Space Constraints

Keeping pace with such market trends, Samsung Electro-Mechanics will launch a full line-up of 008004 inch High Q MLCCs this October.

- A Diverse Line-up: Capacitance range from 0.2 to 10 pF

- Tight Tolerance: A wide range of Capacitance tolerance options tailored to customer requirements (±0.05 pF to ±0.1 pF)

- Product launch in October, with a Full Sample Kit (book) available starting August
