Samsung Electro-Mechanics Launches the Automotive Ultra-High Capacitance MLCC (1206 inch, 100uF, 4V)

Samsung Electro-Mechanics has developed and started the mass production of an Automotive Grade, ultra-high-capacitance MLCC that realizes 1206 inch (3.2×1.6mm) size, X7T (-55 to 125℃) features and a 100uF capacitance at rated 4V.

As technological innovation in accident prevention and autonomous driving is accelerating in the automotive sector, the demand for safety rises. In accordance to this, higher performance is demanded for sensors and radars embedded in automotive ADAS. Automotive MLCCs are also advancing via miniaturization and an increased capacitance, in order to meet the growing power demands of enhanced SoC performance.

Accordingly, Samsung Electro-Mechanics continues to expand the AEC-Q200-compliant ultra-high-capacitance lineup of 0402~1210 inch and rated voltage 2.5~6.3V. This is achieved through proprietary ceramic and electrode material fine-particle technologies along with ultra-precision processing.

Alongside the new 1206 inch (3.2×1.6mm) 100uF product, Samsung Electro-Mechanics is mass-producing the 1210 inch (3.2×2.5mm) 100~220uF ultra-high-capacitance MLCC product (including the High Bending Strength specification). Technical support and samples for customer-tailored designs are also available.
